PHOENIX - A mother who's infant died after allegedly being beaten by a babysitter's boyfriend heard his heartbeat once again.
Heather Clark decided to donate her 7-month-old son Lukas's organs after his death in 2013.
Lukas's heart ended up being given to then-18-months-old Jordan Drake, who was born with a congenital heart defect and had spent most of her life at the Phoenix Children's Hospital.
Clark and Jordan and her family met for the first time on Saturday.
"We're family now. We're friends now. Our families are families," Jordan's mother Ester Gonzalez told Fox 10 Phoenix.
According to Donate Life Arizona, Clark's decision to donate Lukas's organs saved three lives.
