Mother charged with murder in death of 3-year-old girl
NASHUA - The mother of a 3-year-old girl killed in November has been charged with second-degree murder.
The New Hampshire attorney general along with Nashua police said 25-year-old Katlyn Marin recklessly caused the death of her daughter Brielle Gage by assaulting her multiple times on or about Nov. 24 and 25.
Brielle's paternal grandmother said she and the rest of the family are relieved to finally have an arrest in the case.
"My family and I are extremely relieved that Katlyn Marin has been arrested for my granddaughter's murder," Sharon Boucher said in a statement to NH1 News. "We wish to express our sincere thanks to the NH Attorney General's office and the Nashua Police Department for their hard work and determination during this investigation. I would specifically like to thank Joelle Wiggin and Detective Patrick Hannon for their support. We will continue to follow this case carefully until its conclusion. We hope that in the end, justice is truly served for my beautiful granddaughter, Brielle, who didn't deserve to die in such a horrific manner."
Marin is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, Jan. 5, at 8:15 a.m. in Nashua district court.
