Mother charged with 2nd-degree murder says child fell down stairs
NASHUA - A mother facing murder charges in connection with the death of her daughter now says the youngster fell.
Katlyn Marin said 3-year-old Brielle Gage was not feeling well last November and fell down the stairs, causing her injuries.
An autopsy showed the child had been beaten with a bat and punched several times. As a result, her brain swelled, causing her death.
Marin's attorneys have filed a motion to have the indictments again her dismissed. She is charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter.
A hearing on the motion has been scheduled for Nov. 23.
