More than 500 people protest end of sciene teacher's stint at Dover High School

More than 500 people have signed an online petition protesting the loss of an equine science teacher from Dover High School.

A teacher named Jackie Gilbert has been told she is in her last school year with Dover because she is "not the right fit" according to the petition.

“Jackie Gilbert is family to her students,” said Rileigh Champagne, a Dover senior who started the petition, in an email according to Foster's.com. “There’s never been a moment where she has let any of us down, fail or even have a bad day. She’s family. She always will be.”

As of now, the petition has 513 supporters.

The school has not yet made clear if it plans to fill the position of equine teacher.
