More than 100,000 bed handles recalled after 3 people die
CONCORD – Another recall is forcing companies to pull products from store shelves.
More than 113,000 bed handles were recalled after the handle was proven to shift out of place, creating a dangerous gap between the bed and the side of the mattress.
The gap can cause a risk of strangulation and death.
Three women died after being entrapped between the mattress and handles and so Bed Handles, Inc. have voluntarily recalled their products.
The 1994 to 2007 products that do not have safety retention straps to secure the bed handle to the bed. Never models like the Original Bedside Assistant and Travel Handles are also recalled.
