More snow expected, winter storm warning for northern NH

Clayton Stiver

Latest update on the winter storm impacting NH. Big differences expected in snowfall totals across the state. The Mountains and North Country look to be the winners with this one.

A winter storm warning has been issued for parts of New Hampshire from the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine. Other areas are under a winter weather advisory.

Heavy snow is possible overnight Wednesday through early Thursday mainly in the winter storm warning area. It is possible the snow will come to and end and we'll just see cloudy skies for awhile Thursday Morning. Scattered snow showers are expected to pick back up Thursday Afternoon and go through Thursday Evening leading to an additional light accumulation with some slightly heavier accumulation possible across the Mountains.

Much of Northern New Hampshire can expect anywhere from 6"-10" of total snowfall with isolated higher totals possible, especially across the Mountains. Near the Seacoast, and stretching northwestward through the Lakes and into the Upper Valley, 3"-6" can be expected.

For the Merrimack Valley and Monadnock region, 1"-3" can be expected with some areas near the Mass. border perhaps picking up less than 1".
