CONCORD (AP) — New Hampshire's Fish and Game Department says with a few more days to go in the moose hunt season, hunters have achieved a 59 percent success rate.
A total of 64 moose were taken by hunters statewide as of Wednesday. There are 108 hunters.
It's exactly the same as last year at this point in the season.
The hunt continues through Sunday.
This year, more than 9,500 people entered the moose hunt lottery for a chance to win a permit. Two permits were auctioned off by the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire, and one was given to a young person with a serious illness through the "Hunt of a Lifetime" program.
