Money back for Nickelback: Surgery forces band to cancel NH tour stop
MANCHESTER - Nickelback won't be performing as scheduled at the Verizon Wireless Arena this summer.
Lead singer Chad Kroeger has been diagnosed with an operable cyst in his voice box. Doctors have ordered Kroeger to rest his voice for surgery that will be performed in 3 weeks. This means canceling the North American leg of the band's No Fixed Address tour.
“I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer, and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans,” Kroeger said. “I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible.”
Kroeger's medical team believes he will recover fully. There are plans to continue the tour in Europe beginning in Helsinki, Finland in September.
The next time Nickelback will appear in North America is most likely 2016.
The Verizon Wireless Arena is offering refunds through its website.
