Mom of NH kids found in 'hellhole' apartment, covered in feces arrested in Florida
GOFFSTOWN — Police have captured a wanted mother of two children taken away from their father's apartment after being found covered in feces and living in a "hellhole."
Samantha Grenier, 27, of Manchester, faces the felony charges of criminal restraint - four counts, reckless conduct - two counts, and misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child - two counts out of the Hillsborough County Superior Court North.
The United States Marshals Service Middle District Office in Spring Hill, Fla., arrested Grenier Tuesday. She will be arraigned as a fugitive from justice in Florida and then extradited to New Hampshire to face the additional charges.
Police removed a 4-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl from a Manchester apartment on Quirin Street on Nov. 21, 2016. Officers found the 4-year-old son harnessed to his bed covered in feces and urine and the 2-year-old daughter in a crib, unclothed and covered in feces.
The father of the two children, James Grenier, 26, of Bradford, Mass., received a 15- to 30-year sentence after pleading guilty to felony criminal restraint, felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, and two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He is also prohibited from contacting the children.
