Mitt Romney gives backhanded congrats to Trump via Twitter

Mitt Romney, a known critic of Donald Trump who came up short in his own campaign for president, wished the president-elect well wishes via Twitter on Wednesday morning.

“Best wishes for our duly elected president: May his victory speech be his guide and preserving the Republic his aim,” Romney tweeted.

Romney, the former Republican Massachusetts governor and 2012 GOP nominee, did not attend Trump’s nominating convention and called Trump a “phony” back in March.

Trump has been known to bash Romney before as well.
