THORNTON - Rescuers have found a child reported missing in Thornton.

The 6-year-old was reported missing on Wednesday by his mother, who said he had run off into the woods without telling her where he was going and had not returned for about an hour and a half, according to the N.H. Fish and Game Department.

Multiple agencies responded to the Upper Mad River Road area to look for the boy. He was found around 7:30 p.m. on the steps of a nearly condominium unit, unharmed and unaware that anyone was worried about him.

Responding agencies included Thornton police, Campton Thornton Fire and Rescue, NH State Police, Plymouth Police Department, Woodstock Police Department, Waterville Valley Department of Safety and N.H. Fish and Game.
