Milton family loses home to fire; community rallies to help

MILTON - A local family that lost everything in a fire just days before Christmas is getting help from the community to make the holiday a little brighter.

"Donations have been pouring in all day; it is an incredible sight as to what the Milton community and surrounding communities have donated. At this time we are asking that any further donations be of gift cards or monetary donations, as we are running out of storage space," Milton firefighters say on their Facebook page. "The Milton Public Safety Association and the Pelletier Family would like to express our gratitude for all of the support."

The Pelletier family includes two children, twins who are in kindergarten. They were all able to get out safely, including their two dogs, when the fire struck on Tuesday, but the blaze destroyed their home.

A Gofundme page has been set up to benefit the family and donations are being accepted through the Milton Fire and Rescue. Checks can be made out to: Milton Fire and Rescue, c/o the Pelletier Family and mailed to Milton Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 458 or dropped off at the Fire Station, 460 White Mountain Highway.
