Milford police make drug bust, arrest 4 after investigation into sale of fentanyl

MILFORD - Police arrested four people on Wednesday after an investigation into the sale of fentanyl in the area.

Officers executed a search and arrest warrant at 19 Union St., apartment 6, locating 15 grams of fentanyl and evidence of distribution.

The arrests

Alberto Escarza, 40, of 19 Union St., was charged with sale of a controlled drug, possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, and common nuisance. His bail was set at $100,000 cash only.

Melissa Babian, 36, of 19 Union St., was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, breach of bail and common nuisance. Her bail was set at $50,000 cash only.

Joy Schofield, 37, of 19 Union St., was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, breach of bail and common nuisance. Her bail was set at $50,000 cash only.

Theresa Lindley, 48, of 128 Savage Road in Milford, was charged with possession of controlled drug and breach of bail. Her bail was set at $50,000 cash only.

All four arraignments are scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in Milford District Court.

The investigation was the work of Milford police along with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Task Force and members of the Amherst, Hillsboro and Pelham police departments,
