Milford man charged with DWI after being pulled over for speeding in Merrimack

MERRIMACK - Police say a Milford man who was clocked going 82 mph in a 40 mph zone has been charged with drunken driving after he was pulled over early Thursday morning.

Michael J. Wiechec, 44, of 33 Briarcliff Drive was stopped around 1:30 a.m. on Route 101A near Hall Avenue. While talking to Wiechec about the speed violation, police say they noticed signs he was intoxicated. After a field sobriety test, he was arrested. Police say they also observed several open alcohol containers in the car.

Wiechec was charged with aggravated operating under the influence of liquor, speeding and violating the open container law. He was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and os scheduled to be arraigned on March 10 in the Merrimack District Court.
