Milford man admits to robbing bank in mid-February

The Associated Press

CONCORD - The U.S. attorney's office says a New Hampshire man has admitted in federal court to robbing a Rockingham County bank.

Prosecutors say Seamus Murphy, of Milford, pleaded guilty to holding up a Citizens Bank branch inside the Shaw's Supermarket in Stratham on Feb. 24.

Murphy was arrested a day after prosecutors say he walked into the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. Numerous people identified Murphy hours after police released surveillance video of him leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Murphy is slated to be sentenced on Jan. 29 in federal court in Concord. Prosecutors say he faces a 20-year prison sentence and fines of up to $250,000.
