Middleton woman faces assault charge after allegedly hitting a boy with a baseball bat


MIDDLETON - A local woman out on bail was arraigned Friday for allegedly striking a 12-year-old in the thigh with a baseball bat.

Police received information about the alleged assault on Thursday and arrested of Erica M. Hunt, 34, of 17 Auclair Road in Middleton.

Hunt was charged with second-degree assault for recklessly causing bodily injury to a child.

At the time of the arrest, Hunt was out on bail on a Rochester charge of issuing a bad check in an amount over $1,500.
Police say Hunt was released after the arraignment but on condition she have no contact with the victim and no unsupervised visits with any children. The victim, a boy, is now in a safe location, police said.
If convicted, Hunt may face an extended sentence because she was out on bail when the crime occurred, authorities said.
