Middleton police arrest man under new domestic violence law
MIDDLETON - Police have charged a man under a new domestic violence law that went into effect Jan. 1.
Leo Roy, 51, of 750 Route 153, is accused of punching a female relative in the face and pushing her to the ground, police said. Roy also is accused of punching a second female relative in the face and pushing her against the wall, police said.
Roy is charged with two counts of domestic violence, both class A misdemeanors punishable by up to a year in prison.
Roy was held on $3,500 cash bail and is scheduled be arraigned in Rochester district court Monday at 1 p.m.
