Michael Gill appeared in court Wednesday for a hearing regarding a defamation lawsuit against him.

The court expected Gill to provide witnesses to testify that certain statements he put on his billboard in Brentwood were true. Instead, he asked the court to issue protections for his witnesses before they testify.

Gill was sued by three Manchester businessmen due to critical messages about them that he posted on his board.

The judge did not mail a decision on the protective orders.
