MERRIMACK - A 19-year-old from Merrimack was arrested Wednesday, charged with stalking in violation of a protective order.

Police say Ryan Mercier, of 9 Dwyer St., turned himself in to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police say he was held without bail, since bail is not permitted for someone accused of violating a protective order against stalking. Police say Mercier had contacted the subject of the protective order via computer when he was prohibited from doing so.

Mercier was arraigned on Thursday, police said.
