Merrimack police officer passes away weeks after 101st birthday
MERRIMACK - Roy Ingerson, a 101-year-old member of the Merrimack Police Department, passed away Tuesday.
Ingerson was a beloved member of the Merrimack community where he worked for the police department as a Special Officer.
For more than 20 years, Ingerson worked as a crossing guard for the Thornton’s Ferry School where he ensured students got to school safely.
In a statement, the Merrimack police said, “Today we say goodbye to a friend, a mentor, a lifelong committed public servant and most of all, an inspiration.”
