Merrimack High student hacks into school phone to make 'obscene' comment over intercom

MERRIMACK — A Merrimack High School student made an "obscene" comment over the intercom, leading to serious consequences.

The student was able to discover the code to get onto the intercom by using one of the many phones located within the school, Principal Ken Johnson said.

The student then went to a secluded area and used the phone, which the student was unauthorized to use, and made an "obscene" comment over the intercom.

Johnson was unable to say what the comment was in regards to, but did say it was not politically related.

The student will face "exceptionally significant consequences," which are not being disclosed at this time.

The school is continuing an investigation to see if any other students were involved.
