Merrimack cancels 24th annual Winter Carnival because of warm weather

MERRIMACK - The 24th annual Merrimack Winter Carnival at Wasserman Park has been cancelled.

According to the Nashua Telegraph, the unusually warm weather expected on Saturday forced the parks and recreation department to cancel the event.

The department told the paper that "the ice on the lake is not stable enough," and "there will not be enough snow to continue with other winter activities."

The event normally draws a crowd of over 600 people and many local vendors, and includes activities such as snowmobile rides, snowman making and sledding.
