Memorial erected for Bruno the dog in Berlin

BERLIN - A memorial has been erected for a dog named Bruno, who was shot by his owner and left to die.

"I was disgusted. I was angry that someone would treat a living pet, something that they supposedly loved in such a careless manner," said Katie Treamer, who gathered with other pet lovers on Saturday night to honor Bruno.

Treamer, who's from Conway, has started a petition in hopes of changing laws that allow people to euthanize their pets

Bruno's owner says he shot his dog last week because it bit his child several times.

Treamer has written to Gov. Maggie Hassan and says she now has more than 2,000 signatures supporting her cause.
