Media in NH covers addiction more than any other state, new report says
A new report finds that New Hampshire dedicates more news coverage to the topic of addiction than any other state.
Ambrosia Treatment Center looked at coverage in the United States from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 to determine that 2.24 percent of news coverage in New Hampshire discussed addiction. The Granite State saw the greatest increase in overdose deaths last year at 191 percent, according to the CDC.
Other New England states also ranked high when it comes to addiction coverage including Maine at number three, Massachusetts at number 4, Connecticut at number 5 and Vermont at number 6. Rhode Island, however, received a ranking of 44.
