Matthew Dion in Manchester court via video, charged with murder

MANCHESTER - The man accused of killing his parents in March 2014 has returned to face charges in New Hampshire after being found on the run in Florida. Matthew Dion appeared via video in Manchester District Court on Friday.

Dion is charged with two counts of second-degree murder, arson and child pornography. Investigators say he beat his parents in the head and then strangled them between March 19 and March 22. He then set his parents Moorseville Road home on fire and fled, investigators say. Child pornography was found in the home depicting an older man and a young girl performing sexual acts.

After more than a year of searching Dion was found in Florida where he had befriended a woman and her daughter, whom he was living with.

Investigators are not saying weather Dion is cooperating. A motive is also unknown.

Dion is scheduled to appear for a hearing June 19 in Manchester.
