LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — A former Massachusetts wrestling champion says there are enough facts for him to be found guilty in the assault where he broke another teen's jaw.
The Lowell Sun reports 19-year-old Broc Dokos was ordered to serve two years of probation. The former Tewksbury High School student was charged with assault and battery causing serious bodily injury following an assault at a house party last July.
Court records show Dokos must have no contact with the victim, 19-year-old Stephen Bonugli. Prosecutors asked for Dokos to be sentenced to a year in jail, saying Bonugli suffered a broken jaw and facial bones.
Dokos' attorney says he experienced cyberbullying, despite prosecutor's claims that the attack was unprovoked.
If Dokos stays out of trouble for two years, his charges will be dismissed.
