Massachusetts man killed, woman injured in Freedom crash
FREEDOM (AP) — Police say a 23-year-old Massachusetts man was killed and his passenger was injured in a weekend crash in eastern New Hampshire that left nearly 1,500 residents without power.
Edward Conway was pronounced dead at the scene Sunday after he struck an electrical pole near the area of Ossipee Lake Road in Freedom around 7:30 a.m. The Carroll County Sheriff's Office responded.
The Billerica, Mass., man's girlfriend was in the car at the time of the crash. She was hospitalized with minor cuts and bruises.
Police say speed was a major factor in the accident.
