DUNBARTON — Police charged a Massachusetts man in connection with a fatal car crash on March 11.
Stephan Buckley, 55, of Andover, Mass., faces the charges of vehicular assault, simple assault, negligent driving, speeding and failure to stop at a stop sign following the incident at the intersection of Concord Stage Road (Route 77) and Stark Highway North (Route 13), otherwise known as Page's Corner.
An investigation revealed that Buckley ran a stop sign while speeding before crashing into a car operated by Mike Whittier of Dunbarton, police said.
Whittier sustained broken ribs and a ruptured spleen in the crash. He later passed away at a local hospital on March 19 from complications.
Buckley turned himself in to the Dunbarton Police Department after they issued a warrant out for his arrest. He was released on personal recognizance bail and has an arraignment scheduled for July 10.
The New Hampshire State Police Collision Reconstruction and Analysis Unit assisted Dunbarton Police in the investigation.
