Massachusetts man arrested on drug, weapons charges at NH inn
SALEM — A Massachusetts man is facing drug and weapons charges after police responded Thursday to the Red Roof Inn for a report of suspicious activity.
Frank Miller, 31 of Salem, Massachusetts has been charged with possession of a controlled drug, falsifying physical evidence, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, and with possessing a handgun with changed markings. He also had a warrant for his arrest and was processed on that warrant.
Police said when the arrive at the inn detectives saw a large amount of foot traffic coming in and out of Miller's room. As they tried to place Miller into custody, Miller grabbed a syringe from his pocket before squirting liquid that was in it onto the floor after detectives ordered him to drop it, police said. He then dropped the syringe and detectives took him into custody.
Detectives searched Miller and found several baggies containing either suspected heroin or fentanyl as well as a shoe lace and glass pipe, police said. Detectives then searched the room and found a loaded .40 caliber handgun that had the serial numbers scratched off as well as ammunition, police said.
Miller was arraigned Friday and is being held on $20,000 cash bail.
