Mass. man charged with selling fireworks without a license at Hollis flea market


HOLLIS - A man accused of selling fireworks at the Hollis Flee Market is in custody after police and the state fire marshal's office charged him with selling fireworks without a license.

Timothy R. Donovan, 74, of Danvers, Mass. has been charged with one misdemeanor and one violation. The joint investigation resulted from complaints that were received about someone selling fireworks to the public at the flea market, located at 436 Silver Lake Road.

Donovan was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled tol be arraigned July 8 in the 9th Circuit Court – Nashua Division.

State Fire Marshal J. William Degnan stated that the sale of permissible fireworks is only allowed at licensed retail locations across the state, and that these retail sales locations are required to post all valid licenses in the public area of the stores.
