Mass. man arrested on several drug charges in Hampton


HAMPTON - A Massachusetts man was arrested on multiple drug charges, including intent to distribute.

Police initially arrested Marqus Mitchell, 32, of Peabody, Mass., on April 29 after he fled from officers during a motor vehicle stop on Exeter Road. Mitchell resisted arrest and a Taser was used to subdue him. He was charged with possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

When police searched Mitchell's car, police discovered cocaine, marijuana, Oxycodone, amphetamines, and $2,000 in cash.

Mitchell was charged with four felony counts of possession of a controlled drug, one misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled drug, and one felony count of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute. He was released on bail and will be appear in court June 21 for a probable cause hearing.
