Mass. man arrested after clipping cop car, fleeing on Everett Turnpike
NASHUA - 23 year-old Zachary Rowland of Pepperell, Mass., is expected in court this morning after he was arrested Friday on several charges.
Police say just after midnight Friday, State Police Sergeant Joshua Albert was assisting a disabled vehicle on the Everett Turnpike northbound when a car drifted into the breakdown lane, clipping the passenger side mirror, which stuck the officer in his arm and back.
Albert sustained minor injuries but was able to pursue the vehicle to West Hollis Street in Nashua where Rowland was taken into custody. Rowland was giving a sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of .21%, more than twice the legal driving limit.
He is expected to appear in court today on several charges including felony conduct after an accident as well as disobeying a police officer and aggravated DWI.
