Market Days Festival attracts thousands to Concord
CONCORD - Another successful day Friday for the Concord Market Days Festival. Thousands of people enjoyed the weather and all of the events downtown.
A power drill aided Phil Labonte in quickly creating the perfect sweet potato ribbon fries as Phily's Good Eats continues their tradition serving up hungry patrons at Market Days.
“Oh my God, yeah I've been doing it for like over 20 years 20-30 years,” Labonte said.
Main Street is shut down to traffic and was packed with families and close to 200 vendors.
There were concerns the Main Street Construction Project would get in the way, but the event is going on earlier than usual. Also a little early, a Santa sighting, as he handed out early C hristmas gifts.
“I figured I'd come to the festival and of course the elves are back home they're kind of working pretty hard right now,” Santa said.
Luckily for everyone else, the weather was warmer than what Santa is used to, a perfect day for some outdoor family fun.
“It rained this morning but once we opened the rain was done. Of course I drove in and brought the sunshine with me from the south so yup, having a great day,” Labonte said.
Market Days continues Saturday 10am-10pm.
