Manchester woman pulled over for falling asleep at wheel, suffers heroin overdose on curb

MANCHESTER - An officer pulled over a woman just before she suffered a heroin overdose, Manchester police said.

Theresa Ehrsam, 27, was seen by police "falling asleep" at the wheel and driving about 2 miles per hour through an intersection almost causing an accident.

When officers pulled Ehrsam over she was in and out of consciousness and attempted to discard a small bag of heroin from her shirt before stepping out of her car.

While officers called for an ambulance, Ehrsam sat on the curb where she went unconscious, started shaking and turned blue.

Officers administered Narcan to reverse the heroin overdose.

Ehrsam is charged with operation under the influence, possession of a controlled drug and falsifying physical evidence.
