Manchester to try automated trash pickup

MANCHESTER - The mayor and aldermen for the city of Manchester gave the OK to try an automated trash pickup system.

The cost of the new bins will be split 50-50 between the town and the residents.

The program will take effect in Wards 12, 6, and 7, and it will most likely commence next spring.

An assessment of the program's efficiency will follow.
