Manchester TD Bank robbed, threatening note used to obtain cash

MANCHESTER— A suspect was quickly taken into custody after a Manchester TD Bank was robbed Monday.

An officer responded to an alarm at the bank at about 12:30 p.m. The suspect allegedly passed a note threatening that he had a weapon and demanded cash then fled the scene.

A suspect description was obtained from bank surveillance video and his description broadcast to patrol units in the area.

About 3 minutes later, a man fitting the description - later identified as John Fauchner, 39 and homeless - was seen walking in the area of Bedford St and Keegin Way.

He was arrested and charged with one count of robbery.

An additional charge was added for one count of attempted armed robbery after police believe they identified him as the man who robbed a 7-Eleven on Bridge Street and Maple Street on Sept. 28.
