Manchester special investigations unit makes drug arrest


MANCHESTER - Police have arrested a city man on drug charges.

On Friday, police issued a search warrant for Nery Cruz, 46, of Manchester, after an ongoing investigation.

Police said they obtained information that Cruz was allegedly selling illegal narcotics from his business Just Cruzin Auto Sales at 73 Schiller St., Manchester.

Detectives said they found 12 individually wrapped bags of a white substance, each 16.5 grams, which is believed to be cocaine, at the business. Detectives said they also found 30 grams of another white powdery substance which is believed to be a cutting agent.

Police said they found a small chunky white substance, which is believed to be cocaine rock as well as plastic bags, razers blades, and $635.

Cruz is charged with possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute and possession of controlled drug.

Cruz was released on $2,000 personal recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Manchester district court on March 2.
