The city's Health Department closed the beach Tuesday after water samples taken there Monday showed the high bacteria levels.

The health department will sample the area again on Wednesday. Samples are expected on Thursday.

Officials will re-open the public beach for swimming when E. coli levels are at an acceptable level.
