Manchester prepping for April snow expected Wednesday night into Thursday
MANCHESTER - The Granite State can expect some wintry weather and people around the Queen city are taking notice.
That includes the New Hampshire Fisher Cats who are expecting to play the first game of the season Thursday.
"We wait until the day of, and then we make a call," said Rick Brenner, President and GM of the Fisher Cats. "Just in case we do have the tarp ready to go."
The grounds crew has been prepping the stadium and is ready for mother nature's curveball.
But what about those drivers who thought it was safe to swap out their winter tires?
"A few of my customers have jumped the gun and changed over their tires," said Nicholas Hamel a service mechanic at Budget Gas. "Now they might have some issues on slick roadways.
Hamel said chanigng tires is a costly process.
"Especially in New England," Hamel said. "I'd wait until late April or early May just to play it safe."
