Manchester police seek suspect in attempted robbery of Dunkin Donuts

MANCHESTER - Police are looking for a suspect who tried to force open a cash register at the Dunkin Donuts at 981 Beech St. early Tuesday morning.

Police say the clerk told them a man entered the store around 2:40 a.m., ordered several items and demanded she open her cash register and give him money. When she refused, he jumped the counter and tried to force the register open. He was unsuccessful and fled the store without any cash.

Police say the suspect told the clerk he needed money for drugs and that he had a knife, but he did not show it.

The suspect is described as a white man, 5-foot-10-inches to 5-foot-11-inches tall, with a thin build and dirty blond hair. He was last seen wearing a camouflage Carhartt coverall, black Adidas running pants, white sneakers, a black hat and white scarf partially covering his face.
