Manchester police searching for 2 male suspects in violent attempted robbery on Penacook Street


MANCHESTER – Manchester police are looking for two male suspects involved in a violent attempted robbery Monday evening.

According to police, a 21-year-old woman was walking down Penacook Street when she noticed two men following her and immediately crossed the street.

The two men followed her and made several attempts to grab her purse that was draped on her neck and shoulder.

She was knocked to the ground but was able to fight off the men by kicking and screaming.

One suspect is described as African-American or dark skinned male who is approximately 6-feet-2 and was wearing a white and blue hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. The second suspect is described as tall, dark skinned and slender.

A witness stated the two men entered a dark colored Jeep Cherokee after the attempted robbery and a third person could have been in the car.

Police looked at video surveillance footage from Rite-Aid and saw two men enter a dark-colored four-door sedan, possible a Toyota Camry, with a missing right front hubcap. Although police could not confirm the sedan was part of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Manchester police.

The woman was not harmed.
