Manchester police search for info on who shot 3 cars on Rimmon Street
MANCHESTER - Officials are searching for clues after 3 cars were shot with bullets overnight.
Manchester police were called to the area of 386 Rimmon St. early Tuesday morning when neighbors complained of hearing gunshots. There were no injuries but police believe property was targeted.
“I heard shots fired, and it woke me up,” said Dischynt Mahat who lives nearby.
Not only did Mahat hear the gunshots around 5 a.m. but he unfortunately also discovered what they hit.
“I was hoping nothing really bad happened but then I went around to the other side and I looked and I was like yeah that’s not a good thing,” said Mahat, pointing to the bullet holes in the side of his car.
Mahat’s car was one of three that were shot. His roommate was a second victim.
“I stepped out and they were like, ‘your car got hit by a bullet’ and I was like ‘what?!’,” said Mohamed Keita who also had a bullet go through his car.
Mahat and Keita told NH1 News they don’t really know anyone who would do this to them. They also don’t know the third victim, a high school student at Manchester West, whose back window was blown out by a bullet.
They all agree they’re lucky no one was hurt, especially since the time of the shooting is when Mahat usually goes to the gym. Tuesday he slept in.
NH1 News asked if Mahat knew anyone who could be responsible he answered, “No. No idea. I think just some random people shooting around.”
“I just didn’t know what to say,” said Keita. “It was crazy. It could have been worse.”
Manchester Police are asking anyone with information to please call them.
