Manchester police say man attacked officers with X-Acto knife during arrest

MANCHESTER - Police arrested a man who they say punched and kicked officers and attacked them with an X-Acto knife before officers wrestled him to the ground on Wednesday.

When Manchester police responded to reports of a man waiving a knife at people on Hanover Street and Beech Street, they say they found Ousman Trawalley, 24, of Manchester hiding an X-Acto knife in his shirt sleeve.

When ordered to drop the knife, he slid it into his hand instead. An officer took control of his hand, but Trawalley struggled and punched the police with his free hand.

Trawalley was charged with five counts of simple assault, resisting arrest and detention, and violation of bail conditions.
