Manchester Police hosts 'Coffee with a Cop' to address concerns about increasing criminal activity
MANCHESTER — An uptick in crime in the city of Manchester has residents asking, “Are we really safe?”
The Manchester Police Department hosted a “Coffee with a Cop” event on Tuesday to address some of those concerns.
Last month, two police officers were shot in the city's west side. There have been a number of robberies at gas stations and convenience stores, and police have seized tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs in a number of raids. Today, residents turned out to ask the officers a variety of questions.
“Probably the drug and heroin issues going on in Manchester right now," Kerri Spence said. "We have young kids so that’s the biggest concern for us right now. The active shootings in town here. I mean, obviously, two cops were shot and everyone cares when two cops get shot."
The program allows people to voice concerns to the officers who patrol their neighborhoods.
