Manchester police: Hospital visitor had more than 6 grams of heroin in backpack

MANCHESTER - Police found 6.71 grams of heroin in the backpack of a man who was visiting a patient at a hospital on Tuesday.

There was already a warrant out for Jacob Howard, 32, of Manchester for conduct after an accident, and carrying and selling a dangerous weapon.

Police found two foil wrappings in Howard's cargo pants pocket. The foil had burnt residue and hard bits which later tested positive for heroin.

Howard also had a small scale and $600 in his backpack, and police believe he had plans to sell the drugs.

Howard will appear in court on Wednesday.
