Manchester police break up 15-person fight, man arrested for having stolen gun
MANCHESTER - Police, called to break up a fight involving as many as 15 people, arrested a man found with an allegedly stolen handgun on Wednesday.
Police say they were called to the area near Amory and Dubuque streets over the fight, but suspects fled down the alley west on Cartier toward Kelley streets. Police stopped a car that had been involved and received permission to conduct a search, leading to the discovering of a loaded Colt 1911 .45 automatic and a shoulder holster inside the car.
Police say the gun had an altered serial number and was traced to a reported burglary on Aug. 15. Further investigation led to the arrest of Micky Garst, 24, of 205 Village Circle Way #11 in Manchester, who had been a passenger in the car.
Garst was charged with receiving stolen property, being felon in possession of a firearm, changing the marks on a pistol or revolver.
He was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on Thursday.
