Manchester police: 14 fatal drug overdoses so far this year
MANCHESTER (AP) - City police say they've responded to 105 suspected drug overdoses since the start of the year, with 14 of them resulting in death.
Most appear to have involved heroin; two involve the ingestion of fentanyl, and Oxycodone appears to be the cause of at least one fatality.
Fentanyl is used to produce anesthesia for surgery, and to treat pain. Police say a few milligrams mixed with heroin can result in death.
