Manchester, NH, woman faces several charges after leading police on chase
MANCHESTER - A Manchester woman is facing several charges after leading police on a chase through the city.
Jasmine Funkhouser, 24, was driving a 2004 Honda Civic when police say she failed to stop at a stop sign. Police say she did not stop for the officer and accelerated her vehicle in an attempt to elude the officer.
Police say Funkhouser tried to turn onto Hanover Street, but failed to negotiate the turn and struck the curb in front of McHugh's Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St. She continued to travel southerly on Beech Street prior to turning on to Manchester Street, proceeding through several more stop signs during the low -speed pursuit.
The pursuit was cancelled in the area of Lincoln Street and Manchester Street because the officer estimated the car began accelerating at a dangerous speed. The officer lost sight of the vehicle, which was located a few minutes later, near 768 Amherst St.
Funkhouser was seen fleeing the vehicle and was tracked down by police using a K-9 unit.
She was arrested on charges of disobeying a police officer, reckless operation and resisting arrest.
