Manchester, NH, police recover stolen vehicle after foot pursuit
MANCHESTER - Police have arrested a man accused of stealing a car Tuesday.
Jefrey Arnaud, 34, of no fixed address, has been charged with second-degree assault, reckless conduct, receiving/possessing stolen property and prowling.
Police responded to GTI Spindle Technology at 33 Zachary Road for an assault involving a motor vehicle around 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
The vehicle involved, a 2006 Toyota Scion was being driven by a man rummaging through vehicles in the parking lot, police said.
An employee at GTI Spindle Technology called police saying the man entered his vehicle moments before an officer arrived on scene.
Another employee attempted to stop the unknown male and confronted him about his actions, police said.
The man then ran from the employee and entered the Toyota Scion, before accelerating and hitting him, police said. The employee received minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
Police received a second call for a suspicious person in the area of 1179 Hanover St., matching the individual from the Zachary Road incident, police said.
Police chased Arnaud for a brief time before finding him behind St. George Orthodox Church, 650 Hanover St., police said.
Arnaud was arraigned Wednesday morning at Manchester district court.
