Manchester, NH, Police arrest the same man twice within hours
Police had to arrest a Manchester man twice within eight hours - once on drug charges and again on burglary.
Joseph Murphy, 23, was arrested on Sunday and Monday.
On Sunday, police were in the area of Victory Park when they observed a motor vehicle infraction at the intersection of Concord Street and Pine Street. The vehicle was operated by Murphy, 23, of Manchester.
The officers followed the vehicle and made the stop in front of 455 Pine St. Upon approaching the motor vehicle, police say Murphy reached down toward the floor of the car. After receiving consent to search, police located a small quantity of crack cocaine inside of a zip lock bag in the same area Murphy had reached for earlier. He was charged with falsifying physical evidence and possession of a controlled Ddrug and taken into custody without incident.
Just after midnight on Monday, a few hours after his release from the Manchester Police Departent, officers responded to the area of 360 Kelley St. for a burglary that occurred at 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim/owner who reported a loud noise caused him leave his house, which is located behind his residence, to investigate the noise.
The victim stated he observed a subject flee from the rear of the store while he checked for damage. He located a broken window and also gave the officers a description of the suspect who had fled the area.
The suspect, identified as Murphy, was later arrested and charged with burglary.
